i like a bit of snooker, i used to play it 5 night out of 7 every week in a local snooker hall, i did that for years and never improved lol but really used to enjoy it (until the police raided the place and closed it down :( )

Errrrrrr... 5 nights out of 7 is a teeny bit more than a bit Andy! :p I am not sure that success at something is the benchmark for enjoyment, you enjoyed it so it was worth doing ;)

And honestly you, is anything you do straight forward? Why on earth did the cops raid it? Was it strip snooker you were playing...with forfeits or what? The mind boggeleth o_O:facepalm: :hilarious:

lol, everyone smoked weed in there, i couldn't honestly see why that would bother anyone but heyho, better the folks moved out onto the streets to smoke it suppose, this makes it sound worse than it was, it was just a normal slightly seedy snooker hall, never any trouble there, it was just a nice place to go, it was 24 hour so we would get there about 10 and play until the early hours.... thinking about it, that may be where my need for a full nights sleep went, i seem to function well on 5 hours a night, maybe i trained my body to expect it, but yes i didn't get any better at snooker, amazing when i think how much i played, maybe i should not have closed my eye when i took a shot :cyclops:

Perfect day watching snooker Popsy :)
Joe Perry is causing an upset beating O'Sullivan 9-7 but I think Ronnie will come out today fighting and beat Joe.

Enjoyed the Selby v Carter game, Mark is playing some terrific snooker at the moment and can see him getting to the final.

Hello Noblehead

Are you still watching the snooker? We have just watched the Robertson/Trump Q/F. Wow, that was the best sport moment i have seen in a long time! So exciting and to get his 100th 100 too at such a moment was just magnificent!

Spoiler alert!
That's as far as we have watched up to at the moment and if you are watching it, you have surely got further than that ;) So don't tell me! :D John said that if O'Sullivan and Robertson get through to the final it will be a fantastic watch, I reckon he might be right. What's your pick? Still backing Selby? Now THAT would be a great match up too with whoever. Lucky us to be able to see all this :couchpotato:

Oh no! I missed this thread! Happy belated birthday! Hope you had a good one! Big hugxxxhugxxx

Thanks Scandi! And yes, I had a great day....just perfect :)

Absolutely I am and thoroughly enjoying it Popsy. Robertson getting 100 century breaks in one season was a great moment, thought Judd might have got up and congratulated him mind.

I won't spoil it and say who is through and what the latest results are :)

Yes, I absolutely agree about Judd. I was thoroughly disappointed that he didn't congratulate Neil, I mean it was a huge achievement and well worth a hand shake. I think he was just so shell shocked and disappointed but not a good look for a lad from Bristol where I grew up! :)

We have a another day of watching, we are half way through O'Sullivan and Hawkins at the moment but I don't think it will take many guesses to know who will win that :) Hawkins isn't playing so well and O'Sullivan has played some cracking shots. We have Robertson/Selby half way through too and that's a wonderful match indeed. Two such marvellous players.....gonna be a superb final! Can't wait! :D

Have you seen this clip of the incomparable Morecambe and Wise? I love it :)

http://youtube.suburban.ro/video/rksFGQ4-_JM.html

There is another sketch where Morecambe used an extremely long rest, the one where he has 'words' with the commentator? I just love that one but I can't find a decent clip of it

Well there yah go!! We have only just got to watch the final noblehead. Just this minute finished and wow, what a final! AND you picked Selby right. I have enjoyed it all but especially the semi between Mark Selby and Neil Robertson and the final was just magical. That last frame...oh wow. John has gone for a walk to come down off the ceiling he says. ;)

Now what are we gonna watch?

Sunday's session of the final was very good but Monday's was average with neither player playing to the best of their ability, I wasn't too bothered who won as I like both players but it was nice to see Selby get his first World Championship Trophy.

Overall it was a brilliant 2 weeks of snooker, the coverage by the BBC gets better and better, just got the last games of the Prem League to look forward to on Sunday and that's it, really pleased you enjoyed it Popsy and hope to chat about it again next year :)
