I think that oats, raw are around 2/3rds carbs and when cooked in water they are about 1/3rd.
Where do the carbs go though? If you have 90 gm of oats cooked in water then they would be 30gm of carbs
Where do the carbs go though?
So 100g of dry porridge contains 60 g of carbs and 200g of cooked porridge contains the same number.. (assuming 100g of water) right I see but the overall amount of cooked porridge still has 60g of carbs. The carbs don't go anywhere, when cooked in water the weight is approximately double the weight of the raw (dry) oats
Yes and 100g of cooked porridge is now only 50 g of oats and 50g of water . So half the carbs of 100g oats.So 100g of dry porridge contains 60 g of carbs and 200g of cooked porridge contains the same number.. I have a feeling I’m teaching you to suck eggs rather than weigh porridge
