Going by the carbs and cals book 100g of porridge is approx 10-12g of carbs, but on the under armour fitness app 90g of porridge is 87g carbs

Looks like about 60% carbs.. more if you add milk and sugar obviously.. so depending on the portion size.. but way to many for me..

The carbs don't go anywhere, when cooked in water the weight is approximately double the weight of the raw (dry) oats
So 100g of dry porridge contains 60 g of carbs and 200g of cooked porridge contains the same number.. (assuming 100g of water) right I see but the overall amount of cooked porridge still has 60g of carbs.

Yes and 100g of cooked porridge is now only 50 g of oats and 50g of water . So half the carbs of 100g oats.

I have a feeling I’m teaching you to suck eggs rather than weigh porridge

And if you use milk.. you need a maths degree.. that's why I never have porridge I knew there was a reason!

Take the dry weight and weigh it before cooking it's easier that way

So I use Quaker (other brands are available lol) which is 60g per 100g DRY weight

I use 45g oats DRY weight so to get the carbs for my portion I take that 60 divide by 100 and multiply by 45 which means I'm consuming 27g carbs in my portion

I also use almond milk but that has zero carbs so doesn't need included
xx
