As a Scot it pains me to say it, but porridge is a disaster for me. It raises my blood sugar too high and for too long.
I'm type 1 on Humalog bolus which is rapid acting. Even so it can't act quickly enough to deal with the starches in porridge. Humalog also does most of its work in the first couple of hours after injecting, whereas oatmeal can still be releasing sugars after this point.
Eggs for me every time!
