Porridge

By "porridge" do you mean cooked rolled oats? Is it usually savoury or sweet in nature?

Where i live, "porridge" means rice boiled with water to make a pasty texture.

Yes your right it's made with rolled oats, it's a matter of taste wether you have it sweet with berries yoghurt cream sugar sweetener honey etc or you can have it the true Scottish way made with water and a pinch of salt - how my hubby takes it cooked out for ages on the stove

I just weigh out 30grams some bran sticks, about 250 mil of water, then whatever takes my fancy for flavour, may be des coconut & oil, or 1 tble spoon cocoa powder, or berries, or well the list is endless. The more fat you can add within reason the slower the absorption.

The only way you know that is try it, but as found out too much fat can delay things for anything up to 10hrs. Balance. Finding what's right for your self. But I would just cut down the amount & have twice over the day not once if you want to have them or anything that may spike.
