Hi all, I just wanted to say a big thank you to this community for all your support & helpful suggestions to reduce my blood sugars & improve my over all health.

Four weeks ago I weighed 77kg at my GP's & last week i measured 74kg. My BMI was 30 & has now reduced to 28. Amazing! All through implementing a lower carb diet & being more physically active.

I don't drink alcohol so any low carb suggestions when socialising? I love a coffee too, so is a Costa coffee americano with milk ok?
Regards,
Alan

Great news Alan.

I absolutely love having a coffee (or tea) out and about. I avoid milky coffees as they do turn to a lot of carbs. I go for a coffee with cream or a pot of tea - I don't like milky tea so just a dash does me. A dash of cream instead is even better carb wise.

For lo Carb non alcoholic I tend to go for sparkling water with a slice of lemon or line or cucumber in. If its put in a wine glass, it looks like a spritzer, or if in a highball glass looks like a g&t. It's all in the presentation :)
Some find diet drinks OK bg wise, but I no longer like the taste or feel from the sweeteners. Seems to leave a furry coating on my teeth which I don't like.
There are now zero alcohol beers around, but do check your bg. I spent a fortune on some no sugar beer to find it still spiked me even though there's nothing showing in the ingredients which should.
Most pubs happily serve tea or coffee these days, thankfully
