Hi all,

Just went and had a fasting test done twice at the chemist, I had not eaten for over 12 hours. My Reading was 15.7 and 15.6 and they have advised me to goto the doctors immediatly. So I have an appointment at 210pm today. I have lost 2 stone in a month, am constantly drinking water and urinating at least 10 times a day. I have serious aches and pains in my legs and cramps recently. All developed over the last 2 weeks.

Just wondering is it really likely I have diabetes

As you have quite a few symptom which may or may not be Diabetes and you are going to see your GP today It is best to get a firm diagnosis from a professional rather than a forum.

We are also not allowed to diagnose on the forum, whatever we may personally think.

ahh I understand just was really looking for info if it was likely. Will update on what the gp says later today. I was just kind of freaked out when the women from lloyds was like *** goto the gp now

I think they were right, maybe a touch melodramatic.... :D Certainly the right advice was given.

Will be interested to see how you get on later.

Well she done another one with a calibrated machine and it was 13.7 and i still havent eaten anything so over 14 hours now. Going back down at 3 with some urine ( i cant pee on demand)

So will update later.

Well its official, Type 2 Diabetic, thankfully no keytones so not type 1. She was worried though as also had blood in my urine so shes sending that off.

My finger pricked AGAIN. Reading of 14 still eating nothing. So im on metformin now. Appointment with the diabetic clinic and a few leaflets I have to read and websites to check.

Such a shock to get it confirmed all because I taken a random test as lloyds

Arr, so sorry to hear that you didn't get the news you wanted...but welcome to"the club". It takes a while to to get your head round, but there are lots of people here who can help.
