Hi everyone
I'm 30 weeks pregnant tomorrow on my birthday (yay!) and I've been recently diagnosed with gestational diabetes.
I've also been told that I have to start taking insulin from tomorrow as my fasting levels weren't low enough.
I have a drug-induced movement disorder called tardive dyskinesia, which means I am always very cautious about any new medications or drugs etc that I put into my body. I know that the insulin I will be taking will be benficial for my health, and of course my baby, but before I start taking it I need to know whether anyone has any idea about potential neurological side effects from insulin on movement disorders?
I realise that I could ask the specialist diabetes nurse when I see her tomorrow, but as most people (including some neurologists) have no idea about my movement disorder, I won't be holding my breath much.
If anyone has any experience or ideas in answer to my question, I'd be really grateful.
Thanks very much in advance.
