Hi and welcome to the forum.Hi all, I have just joined this forum to see if I can get any advice as have been suffering with these symptoms for years but have gradually got worse. It starting initially when I ate pasta and would shake and get palpations. more recently it would happen every time I drink even half a glass of white wine. Now it has got so bad it happens every time I eat I feel shaky palpatations feel irritable and hungry. I have hear something about being insulin resistant but not sure what it is. I have started a low carb diet but feel in quite low mood with it maybe because I haven't got to grips with it but I am searching for an answer. I have had diabetic and thyroid tested and they came back fine and my dr even said having psychological counselling which I was disgusted with as I would love to eat a cake or a big glass of wine and feel fine. They are referring me to gaastoentroology but not sure if a camera would find anything anyway. I just feel at a loss. thanks for any advice given. Jo
Sorry I went straight in there and thought i'd ask because I couldn't really see any posts that applied quite to my situation.
I have had fasting and no fasting diabetic tests over the years but it never comes back with anything, I have just started a ketogenic diet and taking apple cider vinegar magnesium probiotics and vitamin d plus good multivitamin, but just feel like I am guessing all the time and unsure if I went to see a private doctor for texting whether it would be worth the money. I just feel very desperate as its starting to effect my life in every way
It is the shaking after food particular carbs yet sugar seems to stop the shaking for a bit.

I think firstly I may need to get a testing kit and check it why I feel not well. to answer you question super does sort it out. The symptoms I get are shaky first then palpitations (sorry for the miss spell previously) which make me feel gives me anxiety yet makes me feel tired drained and low mood with a bit of agitation to throw in to the mix. so the main advice would be to see an endocrinologist?? I am sorry if I seem a bit vague I have been to countless dietician and all they do is say I am intolerant to loads of foods and I end up just eating meat fish and veg until I am that miserable I start eating carbs again only to find it starts happening again.

Like others before me said already, get a glucose meter and measure when you are experiencing symptoms. If it is above 70-80 it's most unlikely that you have reactive hypoglycemia.
Some people do have -reactive-hypoglycemia-like symptoms in the normal blood glucose range, but the higher your blood glucose level is, the less likely it is that you have RH.
Reactive hypoglycemia does not happen right after eating, but typically 2 hours (or more) later.
That is not entirely accurate, you have described late reactive hypoglycaemia, there are other types where glucose dumping has an immediate effect within half an hour.
Hypoglycaemia can occur within an hour of eating.
You have to be careful, how you respond.
Best wishes
There is no such thing as late and early reactive hypoglycemia.
What you are talking about is dumping syndrome.
It should be separated from the diagnosis of reactive hypoglycemia.
I apologize if I have misled you, yes they are different but dumping syndrome can be a symptom of RH!
Reactive Hypoglycaemia is the name given to a group of conditions of which 'late' is all but one!
This can be debated like the chicken and egg problem, which came first? No, it is the other way around: hypoglycemia can be a symptom of dumping syndrome.
There is just reactive or postprandial hypoglycemia, and I have seen a few other names for it, too, and yes, there are a few known causes but many causes are unknown.
