I wasn't sure where to put this - here is probably best. I have cut my carbs, although I don't count them and am now including cream instead of milk in my diet. When I lost weight before, I did cut carbs, but I was also very ill so that would have influenced the weight loss too.
I have posted in the weight loss forum already, I wanted to shift the 8 or 9 pounds I have put on in recent months so am trying lower carbing. But the weight hasn't moved at all, I feel very "bloated" and worse of all, I have got spots breaking out on my face! This seems a heck of a coincidence and I'm wondering if it down to the addition of cream and larger amounts of butter into my diet - as I had stopped eating bread a long time ago, I didn't have that much butter, only when cooking mushrooms.
I have discovered the Lidl HP rolls so butter is being consumed a fair bit, plus I'm taking cream in coffee, about 4 cups per day. Do you think this is too much, and could it be causing the skin problems? I'd appreciate your thoughts please. Brunneria has kindly given me the Jason Fung link so I will have a look at that too.

Ta folks.

Dairy could be the problem, or the rolls, or both. Try cutting back and see if things improve.

Butter is usually benign but other dairy can cause problems.

And I'm not sure what's in the Lidl rolls?

I don't eat Lidl rolls, but someone on the forums here found that they were having a negative effect possibly due to the soya flour (phytoestrogen - could affect skin too).

Butter should not be a problem as it's almost pure fat, but the proteins in cream or other dairy could affect the skin too.

Ok folks, thanks. I think both the possible offenders will need to go, to be on the safe side.

Butter on veg stays though:D

I would suggest you change one thing at a time or you could end up turning your back on foods you enjoy, because you package them with something else. Perhaps drop one item for a week, and see if there is any impact, then decide whether you need to drop the other.
