Hi
@richard446
I started with Gallstone issues back in 2013, I blamed the GLP-1 medications.
First US in 2014 said I had no stones but indicated a distended GB, also said to be inflamed, sadly no-one told me this back then! Bile duct was all ok.
2019 a further scan showed gallstones, bile duct ok. GLP-1s stopped as contraindicated, and can cause pancreatitis.
2023, January another US scan showed inflamed GB, stones and a 5.2mm stone stuck in the neck of the common bile duct, the pain was awful, but no sickness for me.
Fast forward 7 months, I’m in agony especially today, GP referred me for another US next week and also to an out of area hospital for GB removal, refused this at local hospital in January due to my BMI, more NHS excuses!
I suspect next weeks scan will show that the stone is bigger or there is another one there!
Despite pain, I’ve never experienced sickness etc. but no get bloated. The pain is in my right side but also my upper back on the right, a sharp stabbing pain which really hits when I move!
I’ve actually been debating going to A&E this evening it’s been so bad, but I’ve managed to dose myself up on some painkillers and I’m taking myself off to bed.
You should get a better idea with an MRI, they can do a MRI called an MRCP with contrast to show up the bilary tract better, might be what they are planning to do!
Good luck!
