Hi all
I play a lot of football as a type 1 which is usually no problem. However I'm struggling to know what to do when I play in the evening.
I play on Thursday evenings for one hour, 9-10pm, soon after which i head to bed.
After playing i usually have a reading of about 5, and then I carb up to allow for a rapid drop throughout the next 12 hours. I usually have a bowl of noodles and 2 pieces of bread (with no fast acting insulin).
I take my night time basal insulin as normal just before bed (16 units) and then the next morning my reading is usually in the low 4's after football.
However I'm concerned that after my post football meal my bloods go a bit too high. But I'm not sure what else to do really because I need to allow for a rapid drop over night...
Any type 1 footballers out there who can advise me on what to eat after an hours footy?
Thanks in advance!
