I'm never sure if post prandial means 90 minutes or 2 hours. If I test an hour after eating and my bg goes up 5 points but goes back down by 6 after two hours is that dangerous?
I tried to get this info from the diabetes nurse but I didn't really get an answer.
I'm type 2 managed by metformin and gliclazide

Post prandial is just a rough guide to check if your glucose remains high after a meal and it is usually taken after 2 hours. So it checks for glucose clearance, not for glucose peaks.

Depending on the amount and type of carbs, glucose peak may be at 30, 60 or 90 mins mark.

If your glucose drops below your pre meal readings, that would indicate the pancreas is still able to produce lots of insulin in response to your carbs intake.
