Until you checkyou would think that Rice has lass Cals than Potato? Plain Boiled rinsed Long Grain rice has more Cals per Grm than Plain Boiled Potato, Most of te time I use Plain Boiled Swede insteade as it has half the Cals of Plain Boiled Potato, I normally dice it a cook with Diced Carrots After 5 minutes I add Cauliflower florets As I live alone I just add different veggies each day

Do you test your levels after eating these veggies? Apart from the cauliflower they are all starchy and high in carbs. The carb count is far more important than the calorie count. Or are you on injected insulin?

I avoid rice completely, also carrots and swede because they cause my blood sugar levels to rise to unacceptable levels. I do have very small portions of potatoes (boiled or chipped), and I mean, very small portions.
