Evening all hope your OK?
So for the past few months I'm collapsing some times I black out but at other times I go very hot and sweaty, then go clamy and cold (even though I'm still sweating), end up going very pale and get chest pains and struggle to breathe.
I have PCOS and been told I'm pre-diabetes and also high cholesterol.
I suffer from gastritis and IBS too.
For all of this is been crazy amount of hospital visits I get kept till early hours say there not sure and send me home.
Lately when I've been getting like this I've managed to stop myself from collapsing by drinking plenty of diluted Ribena.
I get told to manage myself through diet and exercise but as I have IBS and flare ups I'm struggling.
Yesterday I ended up in a walk in centre as I got really bad they checked my sugar check was at 6.8 and blood pressure was fine.
I'm thinking that I'm struggling to either control how my glucose is absorbed or produced by my body.
Anyone had these problems? Do you think I should be pushing this with my doctor again to get a fasting glucose test done?
Constantly tired out and worn out. I've got really bad brain fog too.
I've never had this problem before.

I would definitely get blood tests with your doctor- I had anemia once and it seems similar. You might be really low on iron.

The collapsing doesn't really sound diabetes related. It's a common trait of low BG but as a pre-diabetic this shouldn't be a concern.

If however, you're finding your blacking out, etc is following a carbohydrate based meal. It could be reactive hypoglycaemia. Unlikely, but possible.

You could request a glucose tolerance test if you wanted to. It's a case of drinking something like lucozade in the clinic and your BG is measured at set intervals afterwards to see how your body is dealing with the glucose. A fasting glucose test would help determine if your BG is dropping too low when not eating, however as you've been diagnosed pre-diabetic this would suggest your BG is typically higher than ideal.

As @Bumblebee345 has said, anemia can make you feel extremely drained and unwell. You can request bloods to be taken at your clinic which will diagnose and/or rule out various illnesses.

Get well soon!

Thank you so much for your reply. I have mentioned this to a doctor and now having a full blood test taken so will wait to take it from there. Thank you so much for the advice.

Well please let us know how you get on when your bloods come back. We're not a nosey bunch here, but we do care:)
