My today's(28th Jan) hba1c is 5.8% and RBS is 77mg/dl. I use freestyle libre cgm device and monitor my sugars and also use finger strips. Last hba1c was 5.4% on Dec 10th. My sugar readings(CGM and finger sticks) don't reflect the A1C value.
Could the HbA1C be wrong? or what is going on?
Will retest tomorrow in another lab.

A finger prick is what it is the moment you use it.
An hba1c test is, an average of up to the last three months levels, how they know is beyond me!
Something to do with the glycaemic percentage of some scientific value.

Testing randomly is not what is recommended. Unless it is to see if you are going hypo or a fasting test.
A better method is before and after meals keeping a good diary to log what you eat and drink, with the results.

I have food diary plus am using a cgm called free style libre. Cgm readings don't reflect the lab hba1c. Last month 10th Dec it was 5.4%. Nov 13th, 2022 it was 5.3%

They won't.
my hba1c is 38 (uk) and my fasting is always in normal levels, because of being in ketosis.

Can you elaborate. Keto diet is very difficult for me as I also have gall stones. I prefer a low carbs, low fat diet

Have not had gall stones, so not within my experience.
However, low fat dairy especially is high in lactose (carbs) one may be good for one condition but not for another.
I'm my experience, I have had to tailor my own personal dietary requirements, due to the factors in my life, and I had to get that balance right for me. A food diary and testing before and after meals gives you the knowledge of how your body responds to food, drinks, fats, oils, carb content,
Your individual dietary regime will be to your tastes, geography, availability and how it is cooked.
The recommendations for low carb is general. The actual circumstances of your diabetes dietary requirements is up to you.

Best wishes.

The HbA1c and your glucose meter or sensor are measuring different things.
The HbA1c is not measuring the sugar in your blood, it's measuring glycated haemoglobin.
The higher your blood sugar has been over the lifetime of the blood cells the more glycated the haemoglobin will be. Blood cells usually last somewhere around 12 weeks so it's considered to be a sort of average of how your levels have been over the last 3 month's.

The HbA1c is useful for Dr's to help with diagnosis and assessing medication needs.
But all it tells us is that our levels have been higher or lower in the last 12 weeks than they were in the previous 12 weeks. It can't tell us how high or low our sugars were, when they went high/low or why. So to be honest the HbA1c is not very useful to us apart from giving a rough idea of how we're doing

The glucose meter and continuous monitor on the other hand are measuring your actual sugar level. It will give you all the info you need to figure out your best diet. If you eat something and your levels go high its not good for you.
