Pre Diabetic Before Whipple Operation

I was diagnosed as pre diabetic 4 years before I had the Whipple operation, to remove 1/3rd of my pancreas (head). After the operation, I was still pre diabetic, for 18 months, but have now received the diabetic label. The Dr says as I was pre diabetic both before and after the operation I am not type 3c even though I have had an operation. What do the forum think?

I think why not ask for a C-peptide test to see how much insulin you still produce? Or is this too simple a thought?

I haven't heard of that test, is it easy enough to do?
I think it's just a blood test. Could you ask for an appointment at the hospital as a follow up for your surgery or ask for a referral to an endocrinologist for your diabetes?
I don't really know how it works where you live so I don't have much practical advice to offer.
It seems your question got overlooked on the forum. You could try to ask again in the 'ask a question' section, that might get more responses.
Posting at a time many people are awake helps as well. Good luck!
