Pre pregnancy with type 1

Hi I have type 1 and on pump. Have managed to get my hba1c down from 8.6 to 7.1 and still trying to aim for lower but as always an uphill battle. What is the ideal level for pre pregnancy? Was told earlier in the year it should be lower than 7 now been told under 6. So desperate to start trying but don't want to put my baby or myself at risk just because I didn't wait.
Any advise would be very grateful.

First off brilliant reduction in your hba1c that is fab bet you are very happy with yourself right now .
It's also brilliant you want to do what is best for baby too .

It's hard because different people in different areas always seem to be given slightly different advice.
I have been advised to have a hba1c of under 7% and as soon as I met that they where very happy for me to try .
Pre pregnancy blood readings I have been told to aim for pre meals 4-7 2 hours post meals under 10 . But I like to keep to nearer an 8 .
Then once I'm pregnant to achieve the target readings of pre meal readings should be between 3.5 - 5.9 and 1 hour post meals under 7.8 .

I am currently on mdi injections . I hope this had helped a little bit , good luck throughout your journey

Thanks for that! I tend to fall within those readings. Just lunch time it peaks but saw my nurse today to help iron out those pics. It's so hard to keep on top if it all without it taking over your life. I am seeing the pre preggers dr mid sep so hopefully will have so good news.

That's brilliant and to think your a 7.1 % your basically there already . It's very very very hard forever changing ratios and back ground , and coming off the pill wow have my insulin needs dropped . You just think you've mastered it and then something else needs changing lol .
That's brilliant I fount my pre conception clinic very helpful and so kind aswell really make you feel at ease .
Oh I hope we do get there soon , it's exciting but very worrying at the same time a right mixture .
