Every clinic is different, simple solution would be to ring the clinic and ask. Were you given instructions about basal reduction before the appointment? In a couple of weeks I hav a 3 hour long pre pump start clinic! Will I be hooking up to the pump that day or is it just an induction??
Thanks (",)
Best ring the clinic then and find out what is going on. As no instructions about basal reduction it's a dead cer you wont be going on insulin that day. Perhaps a saline start? No instructions. Got call from GP to collect parcel few weeks ago, and next day received appointments in the post!!

Well that's fine but do make sure you know what is going to happen at the clinic.I don't think I'd feel confident goin on insulin that day! Saline sounds good to me!

When my pump arrived all those years ago I was instructed do not set it up until rep has been out to see you (Self funding) I was fed up with hypos by this time I just set it up how I thought it should be and away I went. Which just proves how different we all are
You will be fine though, take pen and note pad as a lot to take in read the manual and play with the buttons before the apt, if you haven't done so buy pumping insulin (amazon) as it will help you no end.
I'm gonna ring tomorr n find out what's actually happening!!Can't say with any certainty but surely they would have said if your appointment was your actual start day, I had a couple of appointments prior to the actual start day.
