Hello dear all,
I have checked my blood recently. I’m a non diabetic person; but the level of sugar in my blood was 5.8.
Now, I would need your advice.
Thank you so much
Kind regards
Abdul Talash
Depending on when this blood test was done its normal
A fasting level should be less than 5.6 but don’t forget home meters are not 100 percent accurate there is an acceptable tolerance at 15% so 5.6 on the meter could be as low at 4.7
The way to diagnose pre diabetes it to goto a gp and have them do a proper test hba1c in the uk… a1c in the USA (same test). This give you a result from the last 3 months and then if too high you are classed as pre/diabetic
I did a test on someone at work a couple of months ago as they were interested and it was 6.2 he was going to the gp the following day and they ran a hba1c and it came back in normal range
Do some more morning fasting tests at least 30 mins after getting up if still greater than 5.6 you could ask you gp for a proper test
You can also reduce some of the excess carbs from your diet which will help lower the level
