I am confused. My morning fasting tests show 6.3 regularly. But I get dizzy sometimes and 2 hours after eating my bloods drop to 3.4, which I believe is hypoglycemic. So which is it, do I need to see my GP again.

Hi @judithwynn

I'm no expert by any stretch but becoming hypo after eating might be a symptom of reactive hypoglycaemia. I've been treading up a bit.

I will tag @Brunneria and @nosher8355 , they can offer better advice on this subject than me.

I COULD BE COMPLETELY WRONG ON THIS!! - But if you feel uncomfortable with what's happening then yes, seek medical advice from your GP/Specialist.

Hi Judith,

Are you on any meds?
We can't diagnose you, but we can give advice on what to do, if you are indeed getting those types of readings.
6.3 is a relative normal reading.
If after two hours, your reading is in hypo range, below 3.9, and are getting hypo symptoms, shaking, hunger, craving, feeling awful and of course dizzy.

I would have a look at our forum, called Reactive Hypoglycaemia.
There is loads of information on the threads and from there you can ask all sorts of questions. Ask anything you like even if it sounds weird, we do weird!

Hope you are feeling better.

Best wishes

Nosher

Thank you for your replies. Yes I am light headed at the time, and then very tired. I get lots of headaches. I thought my problem would be high sugar when I was told I was in the prediabetic range. I don't know whether to cut sugar and carbs , to stop becoming diabetic, or eat sugar to stop dizzy spells.

Just to confuse you even more, a lot of those are symptomatic of high and low blood glucose levels.

Please do have a look at our forum, it will become clearer.

Regardless of what diagnosis you finally get, doing a low carb diet, will benefit you.
Yes, cut both!
