Prediabetic? LADA? So confused!

Why are you confused? You are in the pre-diabetic range with your last 4 HbA1cs, and appear stable at 45.
From what you said earlier, your fasting levels are also implying pre-diabetes.

I am confused as to what your problem actually is? Can you explain?
Because of my weight. I weigh 79kg and have a healthy BMI Of 24. My antibody tests are also all negative. Why am I prediabetic? My glucose test levels were not even in the prediabetic range

Your 4 HbA1cs show you are pre-diabetic, but stable. Stable is good. Weight has little to do with it. Plenty of thin and skinny folk are T2 diabetic, and there are many of them on this forum to testify to that. It is perfectly possible to be thin on the outside and fat on the inside. (known as TOFIs) You also admit to your morning fasting levels being "high" which is a sign of insulin resistance, a typical cause of Type 2 diabetes. I can't see any reason to be confused. In denial maybe?

It could be you are LADA but antibody negative (approx 25% of type 1's are negative) but you should know that approx 10-20% of people diagnosed with type 2 have a BMI of less than 25.

My dad is LADA and my gran was type 1. I thought I was definately heading for type 2 after 6 years of prediabetes then read about someone with LADA that was only diagnosed (antibody positive) after 10 years being treated as a type 2 so it can be a long waiting game.

So are you still prediabetic or are you Diabetic now?

Sorry about that unfinished sentence. I don’t know what happened there. It’s hard to be in denial when the number show what they show. I’ve met with several Diabetic specialist that say my situation doesn’t make any sense. I guess I’m trying to get my head around it. Can I control tmit with diet and keep diabetes at bay or am I heading for LADA and there’s nothing I can do. It’s stressful.

I'm prediabetic, with but normalish 40 HBA1C last time.

I think you can control it by limiting carbs and sugar to avoid post meal highs. If and when I am consistent with a low carb way of eating, my fasting levels will fall back to the 5's but it does not take much for it to rise.

None of us can say you are heading for LADA or heading for type 2, but either way if you restrict your carbs and sugar you can control matters. Use your meter to guide you. If you test immediately before you eat and again 2 hours after first bite, keep a food diary including portion sizes, record the levels alongside the food, and analyse what has happened, it will help you find your personal carb tolerance level. If the rise is above 2mmol/l there are too many carbs in that meal which either need reducing in portion size or eliminating. It is carbs that raise blood sugar levels. Also, keeping these records is a good idea as you can show your doctors what is actually happening, and when it happens.
