Preference? Pump or insulin?

Is it possible to do intense physical activity with pump?? I'm a dancer and concerns that it would be In th way when I am rolling around on the floor or doing contact work with a partner in class or on stage.

more than possible. If necessary you could remove the pump to dance depending on how long your doing it for. or they can be put almost anywhere around your person and taping wires down. plus it would mean you could alter basal very quickly (within an hour) to minimise the need to eat to exercise.

T1 35 years plus had a pump since end of January when it's all working right it's great one jab every three days instead of six or more a day it allready dropping my intolerance to insulin as I started on a back ground of 107 units a day and I am down to 52.5 units all ready and still needs abit of fine tuning so hope to drop a bit more nobody said it would be easy but well worth it .

For me pump all the way. Been to see my DSN today before I started my 1ac was 8.3, Dec dropped to 7.0 and today it's 6.8 they want me at 6.5, and since starting a pump in Nov 2013 I now feel I can get to that level if not a bit lower. :-). I could not go back to MDI. If they want my pump back they are going to have to either prise it from my fingers or break them, as I'm not giving it back.

I'm in my first two months on the pump and I share some of the reservations non pumpers have expressed - being stuck to something all the time, the self consciousness or vanity, "intimacy" (ahem) etc. Also fear of DKA and general fear of it not working properly. I expect these will recede with time. The decision to stay on it is going to come down to the results. And the stories of other pumpers make me optimistic. :-)
