Pregnant and Panicky!!

Hello everyone,
my name is Sally, I'm 29 and have been type 1 for around three and a half years with pretty good control overall.
I have joined this forum because I really need some support now...HELP!!!!!
I moved to Turkey a couple of years ago so I dont have a doctor here, I have just stuck with the medications I was already on and things have been going well.
The reason i'm coming unstuck now is that I just found out I'm pregnant and having spent the last few days scaring myself stupid about all the things that can go wrong I really wanted to get in touch with other type 1 mothers who may be able to offer some reassurance.
My emotions are really up and down and to be honest I'm completely terrified :cry:
I really look forward to hearing from all you guys!

Hi Sally,
Welcome to the forum and congratulations.
If you take a look around the forum you will notice you are not alone, Sheshe is also expecting. I'm sure a few of the diabetic mummies will be along shortly to offer you advise (i'm a parent of a diabetic child) The only advise i can offer all revovle around common sense, the key to a healthy pregnancy is a good diet, exercise and good control of your bs. I can only imagine what the health service is like in Turkey, i hope it is good. Try not to worry, you'll only upset your bs, enjoy your pregnancy, it truly is a miraculous experience.

I think I just need to calm down and stop worrying as I know the stress is probably the most harmful thing, both for the baby and my sugar! I'm absolutely over the moon about the pregnancy and the medical care here is superb so when I'm able to think logically I know I'll be ok :lol:
