Type of diabetes
Treatment type
Tablets (oral)
I am a Type 2 diabetic and I live in Wales. I receive the below on prescription and all free of charge as prescriptions are free in Wales. My wife wishes to move closer to her family in Yorkshire. Will I get all of this still free or will I be expected to pay for part or all of it.

I am in my late fifties, not obese, a former career Infantry combat soldier, have always been physically fit and still am (especially for my age).

Metformin
Gliclazide
Ramipril
Amlodipine
Indapimide
Simvastatin
Aspirin
Alprostadil injection cartridges
Testing Cartridge & reader (because of the gliclazide)

all prescriptions are free for diabetics. You may find Gps refuse to prescribe or restrict if they think you dont need it ie test sticks

I'm not sure that ALL prescription items are free to ALL diabetics in England so I would suggest you check if this to see if this is the case. I believe it is indeed FREE below the age of 60, but only where the individual is a Type 1 diabetic who requires Insulin in order to regulate B/G levels.
