Good morning
Does anyone out there know how to preserve ginger without sugar? Would love to try (candied) peel too.
Thinking of making my own sweets to eat at xmas.
Thanx.
 
Don't really know, but I made some home made greengage chutney (had loads from the garden!) and just used canderel yellow, which doesn't break down under heat, instead of sugar. Tasted ok, and just opened another jar of it a year after making it and it's fine. Just stored it in the cupboard after making three jars, and thought it would go off but ok.
