@greener Non-urgent treatment is exactly that - non-urgent. If your need is urgent you will be seen quicker. There is a 2 week maximum for suspected cancer for instance. You can also use choose and book and access various hospitals (and some may be private) to get an earlier appointment. With the NHS, we are all covered to the same extent no matter what our employment status is or how rich we are. The USA system cannot say that. You have been told that you can access private treatment if you are prepared to pay and get your non-urgent issues dealt with quicker as in the USA. I see no reason to continue this thread and am closing it.
