Problem only with Fasting blood sugar

I noticed after a few weeks of going carnivor and eating 3 times a day that my blood levels would be around 6.5 to 7 at end of day so my morning bloods were never below 5 and my weight stalled at 14 stone. I cut my mid day meal out which i feel i didnt need and saw a reduction in my weight and bloods dropped into 4 to 4.5 range in the morning :)
I do look a bit scrawny but i am now exercising 5 times a week with resistance bands but i have been inactive for 20ish years and put alot of muscle waistage down to that more than reduced protein
I am working out how my body works with great information from people like yourself and then applying it to myself and see how it goes :)

Fewer, larger meals with no snacking works wonders for type 2. Even OMAD if it suits. This can be the difference between managing your diabetes day-to-day and giving it a right good kicking so you can mostly forget about it. I have found that even drinking coffee can have an effect because it disturbs my natural appetite. Plus of course double cream technically breaks a fast, which won’t help much.

Just to add, I know I bang on about protein a lot, but only because reducing it helped me beat my stubbornly high fasting glucose, so I speak from personal experience. But the great news is that it needn’t be permanent. Nowadays I eat pretty much whatever I want on a pretty high protein carnivore diet, and my glucose is flatlined whenever I test it, morning, noon or night.
Thank you very, very much for your mail. It is full of hope for me. I thought I had to reduce my protein intake for good. That was the reason I was so concerned. But, as you told me, it's a completely different story. I am 100% decided to try this alternative (reducing at about 90 g daily intake of protein). My question is for ho long should reduce my daily protein intake to see an improvement in my fasting blood sugar ?
I would be very grateful if you could be so kind to tell me what and how did you do to reverse your type 2 diabetes. I tried to access your profile to se more about you but I was not allowed. I hope to keep be in touch with you.

Very nice and I congratulate you. I have to recognize I am lazy enough about exercising. I live in a house with garden and I like to do all kind of work in my garden. But, because the cold season, even if I have all kind of gadgets at home, I recognize I am not using them. I know. Shame on me ! I do now and then some brisk walks. I have, generally, two meals a day. I recognize, I like meat (all kind, less beef) and fish.

There's no way to know how long it may take. For you it may not even work, but I can only recommend trying it based on my own experience. The timelines are a bit blurry to me now but basically I beat my diabetes with a whole food grain-free keto diet but was always a bit susceptible to excess protein. When I started pure keto-carnivore (no plants) this was obviously a challenge, but I stuck with it, became a fat hunter (looking for fatty meats) and did intermittent fasting with zero snacking between meals. Mostly OMAD (one meal a day).

Over time my sensitivity to excess protein became virtually nil, and now I consider myself completely diabetes free. Hardly ever check my glucose, but when I do it's always in the ~4 range. Even in the mornings. If I went back to a high-carb diet I'm sure it would return, but I love the keto-carnivore lifestyle so for me, sticking with it for life is easy.

But that is just my story. I am not suggesting for a moment that reducing protein will work for you, but it's worth a try to see if it helps.

Thank you for your reply. My diet is also grain-free but I eat plants (salads, vegetables) just for fiber, minerals, vitamins.
I would like to know from where did you take fiber during your pure keto-carnivore (NO PLANTS) diet.
Just like you, I am a fat hunter (fat bacon, fat pork meat, fat chicken skin, butter etc.) because I like very much fat and eggs.
I tried a few times OMAD but usually I eat now two meals in the 6-8 hours eating window.
Definitively I will give a try for protein.

I rarely eat fibre. Do much better without it.
