Problems with aching fidgety legs

Newbie
i have quite a high HB1C 100. I am feeling very unwell, and have leg problems mainly at night, aching itching and restless. I am unable to sleep, so am very tired. Has anyone also experienced this?

You need to follow the Sick Day Rules if your unwell, be sure to check for ketones and if your concerned or you symptoms worsen then do seek medical attention:

Just wondering - is illness making your BG's high or are you saying that you've been unable to get your BG's down and now you feel unwell?

How long have you been on insulin, and what are your daily BG readings like?

I've noted that quite a few people on the forum report dry itchy skin in various places on the body and we just have to "moisturise" as best we can !

Restlessness may not be connected to the diabetes as many people get this. I once heard one of those celebrity docs talking on the radio and he explained that if your mind is active but your brain is trying to shutdown, then it can discharge electrical energy through the nervous system making your legs twitch. (seemed plausible).

Could possibly be RLS, Restless Leg Syndrome, Ekbom Syndrome. But please see your DSN, or GP in regard with helping you to get your BS lowered. Take care,

Best wishes RRB

I was only prediabetic, but I got terrible, terrible restless legs before I was diagnosed, they went completely once I had got my BG levels down to that of a 'normal' person and never returned, thank goodness.
Just remembered I also used to get extremely itchy legs at this time, I would itch and itch until they bled, all gone with normalized BG levels.
