Ive got a accu-check mobile and im getting worried about my results as they dont seem to match how im feeling. At work today i felt realy low and checked my sugars and it said i was at 6.7 i left it thinkin it was just me being silly then as it got worse checked again and got 6.8 i decided to have some energy tablets anyway and i felt better afterwards.
This is something i have spoken to my diabetic nurse about before and she said noone else has had this complaint to her its been happening lots my last hbn1c was 6.8 but my readings are mostly in the teens so i was given a replacement tester. I think the accu-check mobile is great its handy quick and no faffing around with lanncetts and testing strips but its worrying and im type 1 and soon to be doing carb counting
Has anyone else had this problem?

I would phone the Accu-chek helpline and tell them about your problems/concerns. They will probably ask you to return the meter to them, so that they can test it. They will send you a letter explaining what they found. This will hopefully prevent anyone else from having the same problem. The Careline telephone number is: 0800 701 000.

While you are on the phone with Accu-chek, ask them to send you some control solution. If you doubt your test results you can do a test with the control solution and if the results fall within the limits on the control solution bottle, your meter is performing correctly. You should check with control solution at least once a month, so that you are sure your meter is working correctly.
