Strict diet, eating the right things, + Metformin 2 x 500 mg.

Switching to Glucophage SR from next week, because Metformin is giving me hell.

Great progress

Excellent progress so far, I get my HbA1c on Wednesday after my diagnosis in July, crossing fingers and other things that I can stay off medication and continue the current diet.

Very good news indeed.

Low carb, (less than 100 gr a day) low fat, veggies, salads, 1 slice of burgen bread a day, fruits, {apples, berries] fish twice a week, chicken or lean pork, no red meat, no alcohol, and small portions!

Average glucose level for 30 days (SD Codefree) 6.5

Example:

Dinner today,

1 slice Burgen bread
1 small piece of smoked mackerel,
tomato, cucumber, green pepper
cup of tea

2 hours after - glucose level 5.4

BMI this morning is 24.9 (normal weight).

Blood Glucose level is 5.5 Average 6.5 for 30 days.

Changed over to Glucophage SR 1 x 500 mg daily, reduced from 2 x 500 mg metformin which was hell.

Had to buy new trousers due weight loss, from 44" waist down to 38". That's achieved in 5 months.

BMI 24.6
