Hi I have prolific diabetic retinopathy and have had lots of laser to both eyes
I have had a larger bleeds to the left eye and just recently smaller bleeds to my right
My consultant may remove the bleed to my left eye depending if it clears naturally
I am obviously very concerned but trying not to get too stressed
Although it sounds silly I am finding when I'm leaning over the bath to wash my hair the blood runs down and this is really stressing me out
Any suggestions regarding hair washing

If the bleeds don't clear and the vessels are still haemorrhaging then the Ophthalmologist will likely suggest a Vitrectomy operation, here's some information on what the procedure entails:

It's quite common to notice the blood swirling with sudden movements of the head, not sure what to suggest about washing your hair except standing in a shower and washing it.

I would avoid tipping your head down. There is a lot of information about vitreous haemorrhage on this page http://patient.info/health/vitreous-haemorrhage-leaflet including the following:-

You will be advised to avoid strenuous activity for several days at least, as this might dislodge clots and trigger new bleeding. You are also advised to sleep with the head of your bed elevated, as this allows the blood in the vitreous to settle into the bottom of the eye, out of the line of vision.

A shower seems like the best idea but if you don't have one you could try sitting in the bath and tilting your head back slightly as you pour the water over your hair.
