I’ve just been given a date for cataract surgery, which is good news, but it’s scheduled for three days after the pre-assessment, which doesn’t leave much time for prophylaxis. I remember reading somewhere that diabetics should apply a course of eye drops for 1 to 2 weeks before the procedure as a precaution. Grateful if this can be confirmed since my previous cataract operation was a disaster and I’d like to optimise the conditions for this upcoming one.
