Hi all

I recently saw my DSN and advised her that I am now following a low carb diet, we discussed some of the stuff I eat and I mentioned that I eat alot of protein, so meats and also use protein shakes as they are filling but low carb - she said to be careful about eating too much protein as it puts a strain on the kidneys - but I didn't find out what was a safe amount to consume each day - does anyone know more about this ?

Thanks

i know someone who eats protien all day(chicke breast/steak for lunch on its own) a similar meal at night and drinks protien shakes and he was told by his trainer it would be ok. as far as i'm aware as long as you are not taking more drinks than reccomended on the packet for protien shakes you should be fine.

i'm not an expert though so sure someone else on here will be able to give you a better idea.
