I find that I need about 100g protein a day. I'm eating 2 pork belly slices for breakfast (about 20-25g), two chicken thighs for lunch (34g according to the packaging), and a portion of meat of some kind (pork or chicken averaging around 30g) for dinner.

Unfortunately, this is proving to be pretty expensive, shopping for the most part in tesco.

30g piece of chicken has about 8g of protein in.

can you eat dairy? eggs?

Hi @ghost_whistler ..
Have you tried a full english breakfast of:
Bacon - 37g protein .. 1.4g carbs
Sausage - 15g protein .. 0.7g carbs
Fried Eggs - 14g protein .. 0.8g carbs
plus, maybe ..
Tomato - 0.9g protein .. 3.9g carbs
Mushroom 2.8g protein .. 0.4g carbs
(all measures based on 100g servings)
A simple tasty meal to start the day giving you 70.7g protein and just 7.2 grams of carbs
Hope this helps

I have tried bacon and sausage. Don't get on with eggs or tomatoes though.

The problem isn't the meat, it's the cost thereof.

You might be better off going to Lidl or Aldi - they are cheaper. Also fish and meat from the freezer section of Tesco (and other supermarkets) tends to be cheaper than the chilled.

I find my food bill hasnt gone up, in fact, I think it has dropped a bit.

A cooked breakfast will keep you going for hours. I only need to eat twice a day now, and I save money on all the carbs and fruit, fruit juice, cereals etc i used to buy.

I'm not staying sated for hours. What are you eating for breakfast?

As we have said before, on your other thread, its not about hunger. Its about having had sufficient for your needs. It is Ok to be feeling hungry before the next meal, or in between meals. If you know you have had enough calories, you stop, regardless of what your stomach may be telling you.

Perhaps fasting is in order to reset whatever unbalance you're going through. That will certainly save money

@ghost_whistler - Do you have a freezer at home?

Personally, I never buy frozen meat or fish, preferring to buy fresh, so that I can freeze it in portion amounts myself.

I also have built up a decent relationship with my local butcher who always points out anything that looks particularly nice, having got to know our preferences. I also find he's much cheaper than Tesco, even before he does any rounding down, which he'll often do, if I'm buying quite a bit at any given time.

During the winter, I always have a period when I really challenge myself to use the cheaper cuts of meat, because I'm very happy using the slow cooker, or pressure cooker, which deal with the cheaper cuts, like been shin or short ribs, beautifully.

How would you determine the calories you should be eating?

@ghost_whistler These questions have been answered on your other thread. I suggest you read through those answers again.
