How much is too much protein in urine (sorry if your eating)
I'm having my annual review next week and was at the surgery today to give a blood sample and I enquired about a urine sample I gave about 3 months ago. The nurse said it was a very low figure and nothing to worry about...
But I thought any trace of protein was an indicator of kidney problems.
I will obviously ask for more info next week but would like to know what others who have experienced this have to say.

hi, i am not 100% about this but in my experience if the nurse is referring to a low number it is possibly your eGFR test, which you really want to be above 60, anything lower indicates kidney disease, and i believe any lower than 15 is kidney failure. Mine fluctuates continously between 40 and 65 - and i believe many diabetics are on medications like ACE inhibitors to help prevent damage to the kidneys. I was told things like keeping good diabetic control, low bp etc all help.

@pdjenna.
Thanks for that.
It gives me a little more info when I have my review next week.
