Round these parts one or two people of said they have used Psyllium to help with their dumps. I've been having some real issues... tried prunes, rhubarb, Chia and flax seeds to no real benefit and am now producing every other day some pretty large fellows, which have to be dispatched with care....

I bought some 610 mg capsules and I'm wondering when the best time of day is to take and how. Knock it back withe lots of water or break it open, mix with water and drink and then follow up with lots of water.

Any comments would be welcomed.

Cheers

once after every time you have your food would work for you I guess!!

What do the instructions say on the container?

Why not go to your Drs and get a prescription for Laxido Orange take one sachet an hour before you go to bed it tastes ok and better still it works as a Diabetic you should get free prescriptions so no charge really good stuff

I would start with 1 the first day, 2 the second and get to the 3 on the third day.

I sometimes take psyllium, in powder not capsule form. I tend to use it as an ' I dont want food, but I don't want to go to bed hungry', thing. Or, on a day when I have skimped on veg (sometimes life intrudes and its easier to eat a handful of cold meat, than sit down to a plate and 3 veg, followed by berries).

Because mine is in powder form, I pour a glass of water, stir in the psyllium, drink immediately, then pour another glass, sloosh the water round to catch the dregs and drink that too. Instant full feeling and excellent for the digestive tract.

If I was taking it in capsule form I would still have both glasses of water...

@Brunneria thank you for your posting, most helpful. I've done nearly as you've suggested, started slowly, using capsules and lots of water. Things are looking better in the downstairs department though cause and effect is always an interesting one for me...
Still not really getting the full feeling, always feel there is room for a whole lot more... often say "I could eat that all over again"!
I'm not sure I could ever forgo my vegs....:)

:)

Well, following that post last night, I was inspired, and had a teasp of my psyllium (Lepucol, with added probiotics) in a low carb hot choc last night, chased by a glass of water.

It made for a lovely, gloopy, almost milkshake textured drink. Delicious.
