pump and sensor sites

Hi,

I'm on my 2nd week with the Medtronic Veo pump and glucose sensor. So far I have just used my stomach and I'm a bit overweight (so plenty of it!) but still running out of "good" spots for both bits of sticky stuff. I know you can place them anywhere you would inject but am avoiding my legs as injections there always hurt and bled. I don't fancy using my arms as currently need 2 hands to hold everything in place!

So, anyone use their bum? I used to do my lantus injections there but not sure if the pump attachment or the sensor (which sticks out a bit) would be too uncomfortable to have on your bum. Has anyone tried this or got any advice please?

Thanks.

There are people who use all sorts of sites and hopefully somebody with experience of that will come along soon.

What I would advise is that you need to discuss this with your diabetic Team, Nurse or GP etc. They will be able to advise you correctly. It's a bit like AST using different areas may not be the best thing to do.

Not sure about the sensors haven't used them

But yes you can use infusion sets in the bum, not sure how you accomplish it I know I couldn't due to shoulder problems..

As to the sensors check the manual it will give you the information to what sites you can use..
