Pump Fitted Today !!!!!! 
Callum, now 3yrs old, Type 1 since 20 Months old.
Well Finally,,,, pump fitted today, so far so good.
Although he knows no different and can’t remember a time when he did not need to have injections ,,, ,,, he has informed us that he no longer need injections as he has a pump now.
He even forgotten which side his cannula was fitted ,,,,he soon remembered after searching.
We are anticipating a sleepless night checking every hour, but still worth it.
It is early days for him with his pump but our persistence seems to have paid off so far. I hope that common sense will start to prevails in this country, and that all that would benefit from this technology are offered the option.
From a funding point of view, If money was diverted from “un necessary” NHS services (life Style Choices, surgery and treatment etc !!! :x ) medical treatment for genuine conditions as diabetes for instance would have a better and fairer share of the pot.
Due to the area we live in we have been extremely lucky in relation to the service and care we have received from our care providers since our son was diagnosed in hospital, and although it has taken some time we very much appreciate there help in obtaining the pump technology that we are sure will benefit short and long term.
I hope in the future that other PCT will be more forth coming with the funding for this condition.
