hello everyone
just a question if anyone has found any good pouches for their pump we have a medtronic paradigm veo and its fine clipped inside a trouser pocket but to hook on the top of Dylans trousers he complains its digging in and as every item of clothes he has doesnt have a pocket i wondered what people use.

Have seen some bum bag type things from american sites, do we have anything like that here or do we have to order from over seas any help appreciated as dont want him to be uncomfortable if i can help of it

thanks
anna marie

Congrats on the pump! I know it must be hard work at present.

The only pump holders I've seen here in Aus are from Diabete-ezy. Other people have told me these are good for sleeping etc...as well as under clothes. It is worth looking to see what styles are available and what you think might work for you at home.

diabete-ezy (Google it)

hi jenny
thanks for ur reply that looks even better than what i had seen ideal whatever he is wearing will def order one looks comfortable too so its perfect.

Altho i can see the pump being hard work to set up etc i can already see the benefits over multiple injections and so can dylan which is great thought he might take longer than me to convert lol

thanks
anna marie :D

Hi Anne marie,

I use an Accuchek...so I am not familiar with what accessories are suitable for Dylans pump...but I am sure if you phone them, they will only be too glad to sel you something!

For me, at night, I have stiched a baby sock into the top of my pyjamas bottoms. This may work for Dylan...as long as it is a "cool sock" none of those fluffy bunny rabbits for a big boy like him :D

They work well...and are cheap, and could be sewn onto the inside of more awkward clothing.

Good luck!

hello
they have given Dylan a lenny the lion pump case teddy for night time which he used last night and worked well he hugged it all night, not sure how long he will want a teddy for but at the moment hes happy which is great.

Good idea tho with the sock will keep it in mind for when he no longer wants lenny :D

we found yesterday he was just really uncomfortable with it clipped to the top of his trousers which he doesnt have alot of meat on him so think it was digging into his side abit, its fine when he has pockets cos we just clip it to them but some things have no pockets woulsd be nice to have some options

Hi Anna Marie,
the ever ending story of the right pouch ;)

I tend to make my own pouches, to fit my needs.
I am not a kid, but as an active modern woman, it is pretty much the same thing.
I have made a pump for my biking, one for nights out, one for comfy days in/sleep and so on.

This is also something fun the whole family can do together, and contribute to the pump in the home.

Let me know how you get on. I got a few templates for the Animas 2020, but they can be easily adaptable to any measurement.

Good luck.

I bought Jess a tummie tote belt from Tallygear and it works great. She can jump around and the pump stays nice and snug around her waist. She also sleeps with it. I also bought a pouch from Radrr, the one with the carabina clip, and Jess likes it but not as much as the tummie tote. I mention them though because they do designs which a boy might prefer. At the time I bought hers much cheaper on Ebay but there don't seem to be any listed right now so visit radrr.com to see the designs. She does wear the Radrr pouch, but the tummie tote is the one she reaches for most often and as a result I have bought her a couple more in different designs. They would probably be quite simple to make up your own if you're on a budget and handy with a sewing machine.

I ordered Lily a couple of pouches from America a while ago, very reasonable price too...Untill the PO decided to add vat and a handling charch which cost as much as the pouches, I won't be ordering from America again.
It is a pity that there is no one in the UK that supplies them, at least I haven't found any.

Let us know how you go on and how long they take to arrive. I've never ordered from Australia so would be most interested.

Hi,
Just to let you know, there will soon be a UK site selling pump pouches, which I am setting up - I will be able to take orders within the next few weeks, the site is still under construction, but if you wanted to look,

(Pm the member for details)

I can send you pictures, if you wanted to see examples

Cheers
Sabrina

That was pretty quick. How is it and did they sting you for handling VAT etc.
Post a link to the site and I will have a look for a couple for Lily.
I made her one myself but it leaves a lot to be desired, my sewing skills are not too hot but she likes it anyway as it has pony's on the front.
I hope Dylan likes it :D

hiya no no extra fees were charged phew

i dont know what its like on yet as it arrived after dylan left for school but looks ok to me its a lycra belt with a pouch on the front he steps into it so no clips or velcro to come undone then the pouch is a pocket with an extra flap to go over the pump so it cant fall out with exercise or bouncing around. it looks like it would be quite comfy but ill let u know later after dylan has tried it on

its come from a company called diabe-ezy cant post link cos it will get removed but google it thats how i found it :D :D

will let u know if dylan likes it later

Use a skin colour fabric money belt - have found them in poundland & 99p shops - leave tubing out at top of zip. Can wear at the front or small of back. Don't buy one with a big clip - by far the cheapest and hidden way to wear your pump!
