Depends what you mean by "finding it hard to control BG" and if you are willing to put in the extra effort.
For many a pump helps flatten your BG highs and lows by mimicking a non-diabetic pancreas close (e.g. varying basal dose throughout the day). However, it only really adds value if you are more accurate with your carb counting and understand temporary basal. And have your pump correctly programmed: it certainly helps if you have a good healthcare team to assist with this.
