The ability to reduce basals for exercise, shopping, housework etc makes a vast difference. Even when things aren't going as well as I'd like. I wouldn't go back to MDI.is the pump effective? Anyone using the pump who has a busy life style??
The pump is as affective as the user. Basically you stick to the rules of pumping do the work involved and think for yourself then yes very effective.is the pump effective? Anyone using the pump who has a busy life style??
No, that's not right. The NICE guidelines advise a pump for certain criteria and brilliant control is not one of them. Think about it, if you already had brilliant control, why would a cash strapped NHS give you a £2.5K piece of equipment ?If you can't control your blood sugars manually then the pump won't help you. It will be the same thing different apparatus. The pump is usually only advised for people who have brilliant control over their carb>insulin ratios etc.
