We are just staring on the Omni Pod pump next week . Do any of you use a pump? What kind and why? We searched it out for a long time a decided this was best for our son . The freedom of being tubeless was awesome for him.

Started pumping insulin this year and opted for the Omnipod Pump. Much like yourselves I liked the idea that it was a tubeless pump and you don't have to detach yourself from the pump when having a bath, shower or doing certain sports.

Its a great little pump and tbh I sometimes forget I'm wearing the pods as they are so small and less intrusive than wearing other pumps, plus I liked the fact that the cannula insertion is pretty straight forward compared to having to use the cannula insertion sets on other pumps.

So far I've had very few problems and the ones I've had has been down to user error which I've learnt from, had 2 alarms go off (due to occlusions) when bolusing and had to change the pods but apart from that its all been good.

Good luck and hope your lad does well on the pump.

Awesome glad your having a positive pumping experience:) thank you for sharing!! He will get connected for the first time next wed we are so excited for him to be more free. The encouragement is great I think we picked a good pump for us.

Thanks again for sharing !!

No problem, has your boy used a insulin pump before?
