Dear All
Not sure where to Post this comment however In my opinion the Diabetic Community need to be aware so here goes:-
Was watching QVC Shopping Channel a few nights ago when they brought on a product called Prue Pedi, which was to exfoliate & remove hard skin from yr feet, this was an acid based product contained in what I will call a plastic bag, which you open & slip over each foot for about 45min to 1hr, & so y can move about y cover the plastic bag with socks, it appears after the given time y wash off the excess & after 10 t0 14 days skin starts to peel off like a Snake. This I thought was dangerous because many people don't know they are Diabetic until something happens like a cut in the Foot Etc & as there was nothing mentioned during Demo about Medical Advice or a Warning to Diabetics I placed a comment on QVC Facebook Page, where I received a reply from another viewer obviously from comments looking for an on-line fight, this person obviously has not a clue saying its yr responsibility not QVC's to what y buy & that's correct & GP etc should be looking after Diabetics & so it goes on, it seems also Ten of Thousand have been sold & to that I replied why does it need to be sold on QVC then. I have asked Customer Care at QVC to review this item as it was again on QVC show last night & again their was no mention about medical advice or warning to Diabetics - indeed the QVC presenter asked the Guest from Pedi Peel how much of Skin would Peel would it only be Hard Skin or will it attack good skin, reply was only hard Skin or Cracks in sole of feet & only warning given was not to pull off any loose skin that started to appear - the viewer who keeps arguing is obviously not a Diabetic & has no knowledge of acids indeed when you buy paint stripper its an acid that reacts with the Paint & a Warning is given about protection y need to take etc, so in my opinion this product still remains a risk to Diabetics current or those who don't even know they are Diabetic resulting in Amputations - Hope this all makes sense & helps even my wife who has no Health Problems was shocked to see what the Product did to yr Feet ?????? - and would not buy
