I was not eating huge amounts of nuts I don't have big portions of anything@Pinkorchid Too much of anything makes you fat.Whether it is fat or carbs!
I have no idea about your body shape and energy requirements, but too much is simply "more than you need"!I was not eating huge amounts of nuts I don't have big portions of anything
Well done on finding a way to control your weight - up or down - just by eating or not eating nuts. I wish I were so lucky.
Yes I know protein is higher calories but I would not want to eat more than I do as I think what I have now is enough. Add the nuts and the amount of fat and calories I was having with those was obviously to much. You say that you chose nuts because you knew they were high in calories and because you wanted to put on weight. Protein tends to be high in calories.

Yes true. You could of course choose to keep the nuts (protein and fat) and reduce carbs a little?Yes I know protein is higher calories but I would not want to eat more than I do as I think what I have now is enough. To be honest, most "normal" people; particularly women, find their weight fluctuates a bit from day to day. Mine flutters by a few pounds, and I could tell you on any given day where I will be against my mid point (i.e. the middle point of my higher and lower usual weights). I find that eating more carbs, my scale weight goes up, for a day or so, similarly if I eat LOTS of veg. I'm surmising that's because, formerly, carbs in digestion hold water and latterly, veg contains a lot of water, but in neither instance am I actually gaining actual weight/fat.I am 76 5.5 in height and a size 10/12 quite active no mobility problems and I walk a lot with my dog

I also know if I have not been regular in my,........... erm,........... bathroom habits, my scale will reflect that too.
Unless you have weighed at your higher weight consistently for a few weeks, I'd say it could be premature to actually state you have gained weight/fat.
I seem to recall in your earlier incarnation you were really pretty desperate to gain weight. Maybe I got that bit wrong........
