Am a Kenyan ,am glad am in this wonderful group but am perplexed by what people are talking about. In this side we have very little information about diabetes . Iam in this group on behalf on my six year old son who was recently diagnosed. His sugars are high is this type one or two?

It's very unusual for a 6 year old to be diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, unless they are morbidly obese.
It's much more likely that your son has type 1.
You should ask his doctor for certainty. Diabetes of either type can cause high blood sugar.
Has he been prescribed insulin and have you been given guidence on how to correct high blood sugars?

he is type 1 ... then you need to ignore all the advice people are giving for type 2 diabetes , as it is two very different kinds of diseases...
and I really hope you get a lot of help and support from the diabetes team that is in charge of helping you to help your son...
