Question 13?

Now it's a bit of a rubbish census question, and I can't really see how it provides them with any useful information. But what will you be putting down for question 13, and what do you think they intend for people like us to put down?

Question 13
How is your health in general?
Very good
Good
Fair
Bad
Very bad

Ignoring the fact that I'd be dead rather quickly if the NHS wasn't supplying me with loads of free drugs, my health is "Very Good". But that doesn't help them with figuring out the general health of the population as I'm expensive to them to keep alive, I can't tick the "Very Bad" answer though as that is an equally wrong statement.

For what its worth...I put "fair", as I am a reasonably controlled T1 witha few latent complications...but other than that, I am fit and well. It is difficult to know how to answer though!

A matter of semantics, I think. My general health is excellent - I am almost never 'ill' - but I'm obese, have mild hypertension, underactive thyroid, osteoarthritis and Type 2. I think 'fair' about sums it up - thanks for the suggestion, Sugar.

A category "aging" or "wearing out" would sum me up a bit better!

Seems to me that it will tell the government more about peoples attitudes than their health, still I bet the statisticians will still get the answers their looking for

My health is very good now Ive got the medication right. Oh, and I'm a Jedi

I think I may just ignore that question.

To put that it is very good, which is what I would consider myself to be, is also a clearly wrong answer for the purposes of collecting census information about the health of the population. To put down anything in the middle is offensive to me, and for me to put down Very Bad would be offensive to someone that actually is in bad health.

A better question might have been "How many thousands of pounds do you cost the NHS every year?".

Or "How long would you survive after a disaster/ zombie attack that caused the collapse of national infrastructure so had no access to NHS services?".

I personally will be putting good, diabetes aside I am in good health and feel that by answering good it is a true and accurate reflection.

Fair ,Bad or very bad would that not indercate the need for more NHS funds ? (strips)

I will enter Bad ,, also a true and accurate reflection for me.
