Hba1c test determines roughly what your average BG levels have been for the last 3 months and is an indicator of how well controlled your diabetes is. The Gad test is sometimes used if there is doubt about whether you are type 2 or type 1 and looks for antibodies relating to islet damage in the pancreas, its unlikely you would be tested for this unless there is caUse. Hba1c's are done in the same way as the fasting test but you dint need to fast for them. Ive not had a gad test so not sure.
