Hi,

Still very new to all this and wanted to ask about ketone levels.
It's a new diagnosis and believe it to be T2. No medication.

My BGs seem to be very good at present (average 6.1 with +/- 1.1). Eating a low carb (about 80g) and low calorie diet (about 1500 cals) per day. My ketones have been between about 0.5-1.5 but have been slowly rising. After exercise today they are up to about 3.5/4.0 - BGs still good.

Firstly, is there anything to worry about?
Secondly, can I reduce the levels again by simply increasing my carb intake?
Thirdly, if my BGs stay good, do I even need to think about ketones?

Thanks in advance for any advice

Barry

Are you losing weight?
And have you done some reading on the differences between Nutritional Ketosis and Ketoacidosis? One is good, the other is bad.
There are some charts around showing the different levels to watch for. I will try and look one out :)
