Questions re first diabetic nurse appointment tomorrow.

I haven't been given much choice with the training, basically a vague suggestion that they'd withhold further tests/appointments until I'd done it. Probably their punishment for me daring to go my own way on managing my own health and not chowing down on 3 loaves of bread a day. :)

The letter from the training team was less than inspiring, advising me - and I quote word for word here - that "if you want to make a start before the sessions, try reducing the number of boiled sweets you eat". Yeah, thanks, but it was probably the pizza, burger buns, bread with every meal, chocolate, cake and crisps that got me in the end! Still, if only they could ban those boiled sweets I've never eaten in my life, it'd all be tickety-boo then!

So, if they want to play hardball, so will I - I'm going to treat it like a work training course! I've picked the online sessions, so I'll turn my camera off, do something useful with my time, and tune back in occasionally to hear them talking about how awesome carbs are for diabetics. Most importantly though, I'll shut my mouth, not ask a single question, and hope that kills the session quicker!
By letter from training team I’m assuming the eatwell team - I was so dsaapoint d by every resource my diabetic nurse pushed me at - and I agree it almost feels that there is a threat that there will be no support from our doctors unless you go - or a vague promise that you have to register you have done this and it opens opportunities - which seems to be unavailable within my health authority (but we’re not to be gym concessions, but probably drugs or being put on that trial for that drug that is in the media at moment for apetite suppression etc. ) not available anyway… and by the way low carb lifestyle has actually achieved this appetite suppression without the drugs…
The letter I mentioned came from this program in week 1 for doctors was good and pointed out things I’d been trying to for ages to get ver to them - suspect it’s never read and is in my patient notes in paper form - and as they work with synopsis headlines of electronic notes.
Dropping the bad carbs has worked for me and I’m a good 3 stones less than my peak - eating at that time their idea or slimming world or the UK adopted USA idea of good nutrition..
Low carb and blood testing is my way forward.. monitor etc.
